Introduction to the "Family relationships" demo

KBS V&V has three stages:

1. V&V requirements definition
2. V&V plan construction
3. V&V plan execution

The V&V process for the "Family relationships" example is demonstrated here, although not in the detail required for a real-life V&V process. The demonstration uses

• this browser window to show
  • the demo steps and substeps in the frames above and
  • the V&V process in this frame
• a second browser window to show the relevant parts of ViVaWeb as the demonstration progresses (you need a password to see this)
• a third browser window to show the ViVa toolset in connection with the plan execution.

Click on the substep "Open ViVaWeb", NOW!

The second browser window opens, move it to the top left, NOW!

Resize this browser window, so that it does not overlap the ViVaWeb window, and give it full height, NOW! <*if you have less screen width than appr. 1200 pixels, the two windows will have to overlap more or less*>

You should browse the ViVa method introduction before going further in the demo. Click on "Introduction" in the left frame of ViVaWeb, NOW!

Especially notice "The approach to V&V", which is the core of the method introduction, showing how project concepts and V&V concepts relate in the V&V process.

You should also take a look at the ViVa model, which is central in the V&V requirements definition and the V&V plan construction. It gives details and linkings of life cycle phases, products, quality properties, V&V phases and V&V techniques. Click on "ViVa model" in the left frame of ViVaWeb, NOW!
